Meet the Pros

Ben Slade

Ben grew up in Australia and ended his junior career as a top-10-ranked player in the country for his age. He was an All-Australian in his senior year of high school. Ben played Division I college tennis at Cleveland State University and is on the top-10 all-time wins list for both singles and doubles. Ben was also a professional training partner for several high-level pro players such as Kei Nishikori, Milos Raonic, Ash Barty, and Rafael Nadal. After graduating college in 2019, Ben joined the Wembley team and has taken the reins of both our tennis and pickleball programs.

Austin Barr

Austin has experience coaching players of all ages and levels. Austin graduated from Williams College in 2021 where he played all 4 years at the number 2 singles position. During his time there, Williams reached a team high ranking of number 3 nationally in D3 and Austin was ranked as high as the number 8 player in the country. Austin brings his enthusiasm to every lesson he teaches and loves seeing his students enjoy the process of getting better!

Alex Toth

Alex Toth has been playing pickleball for roughly six years since he was in high school. After high school, he attended Penn State University, where he started the pickleball club that gained over 100 members in the first year. Over the past few years, Alex has won multiple gold medals in 5.0 tournaments and has recently begun to play professional tournaments. Alex is currently ranked #8 in the region for singles and #43 in doubles. He enjoys traveling and growing the game while making friends at the same time!

Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.

Torrey McNeal

Torrey teaches pickleball and tennis at the club. Along with teaching at Wembley, he is the Tennis Coach at John Carroll University.

Robert Golsmith

Robert is a 4.0 pickleball player and a certified PB teaching professional. He has played in many local tournaments, placed third in the Minto US Open Pickleball Championships Men's Skill/Age Singles 3.5/4.0:50+ in Naples, FL, and placed first in the 4.0 35+ Singles at the APP $35k Cincinnati Open. He ended 2021 47th in the world ratings for Senior Pro!
